OMG...I cant believe I finally did it.. THE BIG CHOP. Yes...I decided to just go for it. Instead of going to a professional beauty salon I let my daughter do it and she did a fab job. I hadnt had a perm for 6 months and was trying to transition but it was taking too long. I wasnt my hair so that we could see the kinky curly unrelaxed portion of my hair from the still relaxed pieces. I gave my daughter two scissors and told her to CHOP CHOP. SO, AS OF FRIDAY MARCH 23, 2012..i am proud to say that i am a natural beauty.

I feel so liberated with my hair being in its natural state, so much so that its positively affecting other parts of my life. Since the cut I've been eating healthier and wanting to exercise more. I think more about the type of foods I consume and want to change my eating habits for the better. Instead of sweet rolls for a snack , I want carrots and celery sticks dipped in ranch dressing. :)

Vitamins are also something that i will start taking everyday. I'm thinking the one a day womens vitamins is the way to go or just a simple hair and nail vitamin too. I look forward to growing my hair out naturally and can't wait to see myself , this time next year. I know that it is a process that may take a long time...but i look forward to this journey.

I'm still trying to see what products will work for me, so i will be buying different kinds of stuff.

Natural Beauty is what it is right now and I feel that me rocking this style brings out my exocic features..such as my naturally profound cheek bones. I do not contour my cheeks because its not needed and I dont know how to any way..lol. Everyone can not rock the natural style and at one point I thought that I couldnt because of my long face and my big head..lmao....but I beg to differ now. I look fab....NATURALLY.

I will continue to wear my wigs though and I may get a weave until it grows out a bit more...but will rock the natural way also. To any DIVA contiplating going natural....JUST DO IT...you will feel great after... GOOD LUCK. And remember large earrings from LEADING LADY LUXURIES BOUTIQUE will help you look naturallydivalicious with your Natural cut;)

SPOTLIGHT #3: Polka Dot Trend / Maybelline Blast FlipStick/Tiny & TI

Posted by Traynedra Pierre aka MsQtstyle on March 11, 2012 at 9:20 PM Comments comments (0)

this polka deot dress with the peter pan collar buttone ddown the front and tied in back

The Polka Dots is definitely a classic print that’s been around forever. Although some hesitate on wearing this spotty print, Elizabeth Taylor, First Lady Michelle Obama, Marilyn Monroe and certainly Lucille Ball have sported this print with style and grace. Even ya girl Minnie Mouse rocked this print as her forever adorable outfit…lol….I remember the polka trend back in 90’s and I think I had every color..

The classic black and white polka dot is the most common worn and can be worn bold and beautiful with a hot color such yellow or red. If you are more conservative a black pump is a sure asset.

MsQtStyle's F & B Spotlight #2: Business Slacks/Wet & Wild Lip Balm

Every woman should have a pair of black, gray & brown slacks in their wardrobe. Those are the basics and can be mixed and matched with various styles and color blouses without looking like the same pair of pants. A simple pant can go a long way for a woman who must dress in business casual or dressy attire in the workplace.

You can pair these slacks with a button down blouse, a scarf, belt and some pumps making you stylish and appropriate for business casual attire. If you want to make the pant look dressy; add a nice blazer or cardigan to obtain that look. A nice turtleneck and simple boot can give you a polished professional look worn with a nice pant, too.

I’ve been in workplaces where I see women wearing clothing that are inappropriate and should only be worn outside of work. In my opinion, leggings of any kind are not the right garment to wear in the office. Some style leggings are made of shear material and are very form fitting, sometimes showing too much. Wearing something like this on the job can send out wrong signals and are against some company policies. Sticking to a business style slack is the best way to go. As stated above, different blouses or blazers can be added to make the pant look different. Be presentable and professional because your appearance says a lot about you.

Check out my video above as i give examples of some slacks I purchased from DD's Store . Marshalls, Ross, Burlington Coat Factory, TJMaxx , JCPenneys , etc is a great place to find nice slacks at a reasonable price.

Beauty Spotlight: Try the new Wet & Wild Lip Balm that is similar too Maybellines Baby Lips. The product comes in so many different flavors and are scented too. This lip balm goes on smoothly and leaves your lips nourished and moisturize all day. It has a light color tone that shows up naturally. i would recommend you try these lip balms. I purchased the Cherry and Watermelon flavor for $3.97 at Walgreens.

Question:

How many pairs of dress slacks  to you own ?

So Thanksgiving is over and now Christmas is alamost here. I didnt really cook anything for Thanksgiving but I will for Christmas. I will cook a Gumbo and ham and I guess the rest of the family will cook  too. In this tough economy I dont really want anything for Christmas except to re-establish myself and be settled in one spot..preferably Louisiana of Atlanta. Igo to sleep every night wishing I was settled toweard the south because I am totally burnt out on LA. I would at least like to try moving back to the souith and if it doesnt work then I will come back I guess.

The Swapmeet Experience

Posted by Traynedra Pierre aka MsQtstyle on September 18, 2011 at 1:30 PM Comments comments (2)

So Yesterday 9/18.2011 i had my first exprience at the swapmeet in Torrance, CA as a vendor. I was up early along with my helper (my brother) and at the swap meet for 6:45 am. When i got there my tent was already placed at my spot AAA43 by Mr. Arturo who sells and rent swapmeet supplies. He only charged me $15 for the tent and to set it up which i think was very very reasonable, affordable and so worth it. So, we immediately started setting up the display tables and posting flyers and signs up.

Customers started coming in around 8 am browsing the booths as they do 7 days a week at the open air swapmeet. Ayt first a few people stopeed by and looked and said how pretty and elegant the earrings were and some took flyers. Right before noon i started selling a few earrings and more and more people stopped by. Some people asked if we would be out there next week, tommorrow etc. I hadnt planned on it but still considering going again.

All in all it was a great experience to be a vendor and not just a shopper as I usually am at the Roadium Outdoor swapmeet. I would definitely rent a booth again butttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt...I want a better spot than the one I had. I rented this at the last minute so I had to get what they had.

The spot I was in was wayyyy in the back with a low traffic area. I prefer to be closer around the restrooms and food court because it is a high traffic area where most of the customers are shopping at. The spot where I was along with about 10 other vendors was wayyyyyyyyy in the back at the end of the lot. Honestly when I shop there as a customer, I too never go way back there.. So I think that killed some of my sales by being kind of secluded. Also I think that my display and what I was selling was ..well...lets just say a litle too fancy for that swapmeet in that area. Most people come for a real cheap bargain and they like the vendors with used clothing and stuff thrown on the table for 2 for 5 or 3 for 10 sales. There ARE OTHER JEWELRY VENDORS who sell real jewelry and some who sell $1.00 to $5.00 jewelry. I walked around and noticed that not too many were selling the type of jewelry that i had and I know that if I were in the more populated area that I would've sold a whole lot more. I was expressed by this one black lady around my age who came directly to the table and said .."I want this one and this one" and made her purchase quick and fast. She was a woman like me who knew what she wanted ..and got it.

I plan on going back the week of October 1st and I will rent the  ahead so i can have a better choice of where my booth will be. The only other issue there is that if I chose a spot to sell where there is say another jewelry vendor who has a lease there (and not just rent a booth sometimes) then I cant sell my jewelry at that booth. Basically since they are all the time leasers then they dont want the competition from someone like me ...who just rent a booth occasionally..lol..I guess thats fair.

So this was a great learning business experience for me and not a bad one but a Fair one. Ive been searching online for different free craft show fairs that want vendors like me at their festivals. Im also looking into one in Las Vegas coming up next month. Nothing can stop me now. I will pursue and push my business far as I can.

thanks for reading and i will add a video of how the swap meet looks and some of how i had mines set up soon.

Statement Peice Setting a Trend

Posted by Traynedra Pierre aka MsQtstyle on September 5, 2011 at 12:25 AM Comments comments (1)

So as I'm making some earrings yesterday, I was thinking what is this particular piece I was working on saying. Odd huh?...but not really. I think a true statement peice speaks volumes whether it be Jewelry, clothes, etc. Below is a picture of some earrings that I was working on and then the earring made a statement and paused me in my tracks.....

The Statement this Piece made was " I STAND ALONE WITH CONFIDENCE".

I heard what it was saying loud and clear so I completed this earring and decided i was finished . I'm not making the other earring because this one will STAND ALONE. This is a trend that used to be around back in the 90's that I want to bring back. We used to rock one biggggggggggg earring and just a stud in the other ear. With an earring so fierce as this....you dont need the other one :)

Description: Medium Black Hoop with 2 spikes. 2 zebra Beads, 4 rondelle spacers, black feather and black & white link chain.

My Boutique will carry something for every type woman...The Fierce, The Simple, The Extravagant, The Conservative, etc. but what ever your style ,,,you will definitely make a statement when wearing the piece/pieces.

**Pictures of me rocking that fierce 1 earring coming soon.
